White Sugar Cookies II

Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter, softened
  • 1 c. shortening (Crisco butter flavored baking sticks)
  • 1 c. powdered sugar
  • 1 c. white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 t. vanilla
  • 4 c. unbleached all-purpose white flour
  • 1 t. cream of tarter
  • 1 t. baking soda

Instructions

In a large bowl, cream butter, shortening, sugars, eggs and vanilla.

By hand, stir in dry ingredients. Chill dough.

When ready to bake, roll into balls (roll in sugar) and flatten with the bottom of a floured glass onto ungreased cookie sheets (or a cookie press stamp).

Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes. Cool on wire racks lined with paper towel to absorb the grease.
