If you love White Russian drinks, you'll love these brownies
Ingredients
- 1 box brownie mix (9x13-inch box size)
- ¼ c. Kahlua (instead of water)
- ½ c. dark chocolate chips
Cream Cheese Filling
- 6 oz. low fat cream cheese, softened
- 2 Tbls. butter, softened
- ¼ c. white sugar
- ¼ c. vodka
- 2 Tbls. flour
- 1 egg
Instructions
Using an electric mixer, cream together the cream cheese, butter, sugar and flour. Add egg and vodka and mix on low until blended. Set aside.
Prepare brownie mix according to directions on box, except use ¼ c. Kahlua in place of water and add chocolate chips.
Spread half the brownie batter into a greased 9 x 9-inch baking pan. Add cream cheese mixture; using a large spoon, dollop remaining brownie batter on top of cream cheese mixture. Take a knife and carefully swirl batter and cream cheese a bit.
Bake at 350 degrees (325 degrees for a dark pan) for 50 minutes until firm and baked through (if they are under baked, the middle will consist of unbaked batter when you cut into them). Cool and cut into 16 bars.
Store in refrigerator.
NOTE: For a thicker brownie, you can use an 8 x 8-inch pan.
