Source: Taste of Home

Thanksgiving tradition - excellent and so moist. Also frees up your oven!

Ingredients

  • 12-16 lb. Turkey
  • 1 large turkey size oven bag (see note)
  • Foil pan large enough for a Turkey (these have handles on)

Marinade

  • 1-1/2 c. chicken broth
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 c. water
  • 1-1/2 t. ground ginger
  • 1 c. Kikkoman low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 t. pepper
  • 2/3 c. lemon juice

Instructions

IMPORTANT: Shake 1-2 Tbls. of flour inside oven bag.

Combine marinade ingredients.

Place turkey into a large oven bag (tuck wings under turkey and place with breast side down); pour marinade over turkey and seal.

Put bag into a study foil pan and marinade overnight or at least 8 hours (TURN A FEW TIMES).

When ready to grill, cut a few slits in the top of the oven bag and place foil pan with turkey on the grill rack. Insert thermometer if desired.

Cover and grill for about 2-1/2 to 3 hours or until meat thermometer reads 185 degrees. A 20 lb. turkey will take about 3 to 3-1/2 hours.

Let turkey stand about 15 minutes before carving.

NOTE: You may want to double bag turkey; we have had the bag rip on us occasionally.
