Tennessee Peach Pudding

Not sweet at all.
Made camping Sept. 2017, big hit!


Ingredients
- 1 c. unbleached all-purpose white flour (or 1/2 c. whole wheat & 1/2 c. white flour)
- ½ c. white sugar
- 2 t. baking powder
- ½ t. salt
- ½ t. cinnamon
- ½ c. milk
- 3 c. sliced peeled fresh or frozen peaches (thawed)
- half and half for serving
Topping
- 1-1/2 c. water
- ½ c. white sugar
- ½ c. brown sugar
- 1 Tbls. butter
- ½ t. nutmeg
Instructions
In a large bowl, combine flour, ½ c. white sugar, baking powder, salt and cinnamon. Stir in milk just until combined. Fold in peaches.
Spread into a 9-inch greased square baking dish.
In a medium saucepan, combine water, ½ c white sugar, brown sugar, butter and nutmeg. Bring to a boil, stirring until sugars are dissolved. Pour over top of batter in baking dish.
Bake at 400 degrees for 40-50 minutes or until filling is bubble and a toothpick inserted in topping comes out clean.
Serve warm or cold with a little cream drizzled over each slice.
