Spinach-Cheese Swirls

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pkg. Pepperidge Farm Frozen Puff Pastry Sheets
  • 1/4 c. grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 c. Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
  • 10 oz. pkg. frozen chopped spinach, thawed and well drained
  • 1 green onion, chopped
  • 1 Tbls. water
  • 1/8 t. garlic powder

Instructions

Thaw pastry sheet at room temperature for 30 minutes or overnight in the refrigerator. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Mix egg and water. Mix Monterey Jack cheese, parmesan cheese, onion and garlic. Unfold pastry on lightly floured surface. Brush with egg mixture. Top with cheese mixture and spinach. Starting at one side, roll up like a jelly roll. Cut into 20 (1/2-inch) slices. Place 2 inches apart on baking sheet. Brush tops with egg mixture.

Bake 15 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm. Can also be removed from baking sheet and cooled on wire rack and served at room temp. Makes 20.

NOTE: Can refrigerate until ready to bake, but slice first and place on baking pan until ready to bake.
