Spaghetti Sauce I

Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 lbs. lean ground chuck
  • 1/2 lb. bulk Italian pork sausage
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 bay leaf
  • 1 t. dried basil
  • 1 t. dried oregano
  • 1/4 t. ground coriander
  • 3 (1 lb. 12 oz.) cans crushed tomatoes
  • 6 oz. can tomato paste
  • 15 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 t. white sugar
  • 2 Tbls. dried parsley
  • 1/4 t. crushed fennel
  • 1/2 t. dried thyme

Instructions

Brown ground chuck with chopped onion, drain fat and set aside.

In the same fry pan, brown Italian pork sausage; remove to a colander lined with several layers of paper towel to absorb the fat. Combine meats and set aside.

In large pot, combine crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato sauce, garlic and seasonings.

Cook on low heat for 1-2 hours or in crock pot a couple hours.

Remove bay leaf before serving.

Serve over your favorite pasta.
