So easy and tasty.
You can prep the meat ahead of time (see note)
Ingredients
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 Tbls. olive oil
- 1 lb. lean ground sirloin
- 1 t. yellow mustard
- 1 Tbls. Worcestershire sauce
- salt & pepper to taste
- 8-10 slices low-fat cheddar or American cheese
- 3 Tbls. butter, melted
- 1/4 t. garlic powder
- 1 Tbls. sesame seeds
- 12 slider or small dinner rolls
- round pickle slices, optional (dill or bread & butter)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees (325 for a glass dish).
Heat olive oil in a large skillet. Sauté onions and ground beef until beef is cooked through and crumbly. Add garlic and cook about 30 seconds. Remove skillet from stove top and drain excess fat. Stir in mustard and Worcestershire sauce. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
Coat a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
Place the bottom halves of the slider buns in the dish. Top with cooked beef mixture. Layer cheese slices to cover the meat. Place the top halves of the buns on top.
Brush the tops of the buns with the melted butter. Sprinkle garlic powder and sesame seeds on top.
Bake at 350 until the cheese melts and everything is warmed through, about 15-20 minutes.
NOTE: You can prepare meat mixture ahead of time, cover and refrigerate. Just heat in microwave 1-2 minutes, just to warm a bit (not hot). Then assemble and bake.
