Sirloin Tips

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. beef sirloin tip steak, cut into thin strips
  • 1 can beef consommé soup
  • 1/3 c. red burgundy wine (Ernest & Julio Gallo Burgundy)
  • 2 Tbs. Kikkoman light soy sauce
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 t. onion powder
  • 2 Tbls. cornstarch
  • 1/4 c. cold water
  • 1 green pepper, sliced (optional)
  • egg noodles, cooked and drained (try multi-grain or whole wheat)

Instructions

Brown beef; drain fat.

Add consommé, wine, soy sauce, garlic and onion powder. Heat to boiling, reduce heat and cover. Simmer 1 hour or until meat is tender. Add green pepper strips if desired.

Blend cornstarch in cold water and gradually add to meat. Cook stirring constantly until gravy thickens and boils. Cook 1 minute more.

NOTE: Serve over egg noodles or rice. Serves 6
