Savory Cranberry Chicken (Slow Cooker)

Great flavor and sauce is delicious.
Serve over brown rice.
Ingredients
- 6 (5-6 oz.) boneless, skinless chicken breasts (see note below)
- 1 c. chopped onion
- 2 t. canola oil
- 1 Tbls. butter
- 1/3 c. tomato sauce
- 1 Tbls. cider vinegar
- 1 Tbls. brown sugar
- 2 Tbls. orange marmalade
- ½ c. dried cranberries
- ½ t. chili powder
- ½ t. ground allspice
- 1 t. salt
- ¼ t. fresh ground pepper
Instructions
Place onion, oil, butter and chicken breasts in a large skillet. Brown about 3 minutes on each side. Don’t over crowd, do in batches if your skillet isn’t large enough.
Remove the onions and chicken; place in slow cooker.
Mix remaining ingredients in a small bowl until smooth. Pour sauce over chicken breasts.
Cover and cook on low for about 4 hours until chicken is cook through.
Serve over brown rice to catch and enjoy the delicoius sauce.
NOTE: You can also use 3 large chicken breasts, cut in half.
