Salisbury Steak & Peppers

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. lean ground chuck
  • 1 env. Lipton dry onion soup mix
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 c. seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 2 Tbls. flour
  • 1-1/2 c. warm water
  • 1 green pepper, sliced into rings
  • salt/pepper

Instructions

Mix ground chuck, 2 tablespoons of soup mix, egg, breadcrumbs, salt and pepper.

Shape into 4 oval patties; place in a greased square shallow casserole dish.

Mix together the remaining soup mix, flour and warm water and pour over patties. Place green pepper rings on top of and around patties.

Bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes. Makes wonderful gravy!

NOTE: You can also prep patties and freeze. Slice peppers, wrap well and freeze with patties. When ready to make, thaw patties and peppers in refrigerator. Assemble sauce ingredients just before baking.

Good served with mashed potatoes.
