Ingredients

  • 2 large slightly under ripe Bosc pears
  • 2 t. unsalted butter
  • 3 Tbls. good quality balsamic vinegar (18 year or older)
  • 4 t. honey (or more to taste)

Instructions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Halve and core the pears. Don’t peel them.

Melt butter in a cast-iron skillet or another heavy-bottomed, ovenproof pan.

Add the pears, cut side facing down, and sauté them for 2 minutes on the stove.

Place pan in the oven and roast the pears for 20 minutes. Flip the pear halves over and drizzle the balsamic vinegar on the pears. Continue roasting for 5 more minutes.

Remove the pan from the oven, drizzle each pear with some honey and let the pears rest for another few minutes.

Serve warm with some of the pan juices and more honey, if you wish.

NOTE: This recipe was made with Barlett pears, but Bosc pears would work great too!

Cinnamon Pear Balsamic would be good as well.
