Puffy Paint

I had so much fun doing this with our grandkids.

Ingredients

  • small bowls
  • straws or popsicle sticks
  • 1/4 c. white glue (any brand) - for each color
  • 1/4 c. shaving cream (any brand) - for each color
  • food coloring

Instructions

Pour approximately 1/4 cup of white glue into a small bowl or container. See note below.

Add an equal amount of shaving cream to the bowl. See note below.

Add a few drops of food coloring to the mixture. As the puffy paint dries, the color will get darker, so don’t be too worried if it looks too light at this point. I added about 10 to 15 drops of food coloring into each color.

Stir them with straws or popsicle sticks, to blend.

Repeat the process for as many colors as you’d like. A little more glue may give you a better texture.
Use a regular paint brush to add the puffy paint onto paper. You’ll need to add a generous amount of puffy paint to your brush and "dab" rather than "spread".

NOTE: Just estimate the measurements. Try to add an equal amount of glue and shaving cream. It's okay if the measurement isn't perfect, it will still work (plus you won't have to clean extra measuring cups!).
