Ingredients
- 1 lb. lean ground beef
- 1 small yellow onion, diced
- 1 small green pepper, diced small
- 8 oz. cremini mushrooms, diced
- 2 Tbls. ketchup
- 1 Tbls. Worcestershire sauce
- 3 Tbls. A1 sauce (more if you want a stronger flavor)
- 1/2 t. salt
- 1/2 t. pepper
- 1 Tbls. cornstarch
- 1 c. beef broth
- 8 oz. provolone cheese, slices
- 6 sesame seed bakery hamburger buns
Instructions
In a large skillet over medium heat add ground beef, onions and peppers; cook while breaking apart until no longer pink (when meat is almost done, add mushrooms). Drain grease.
In a small separate bowl combine beef broth and cornstarch. Whisk until no lumps remain. Pour broth over meat and stir well.
Add ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, A1 sauce, salt, and pepper. Stir well and let cook until most of the liquid has been absorbed, about 5 minutes.
Turn off the heat for the burner. Add sliced provolone cheese to the top of the beef and allow to melt.
Serve meat and cheese mixture on sesame seed hamburger buns.
