Margarita: Z's Perfect Margarita

Makes 1 Margarita (see Note)
The best margarita you'll ever have!


Ingredients
- 1-1/2 oz. Tequila agave (Chinazo, Patron or other top shelf)
- 1 oz. grand mariner
- 1 oz. Agavero (orange liquor)
- 1/2 oz. simple syrup
- 2 oz.fresh lime juice
- Juice of 1 Valencia or Navel orange (1/4 c.) Important Ingredient - see Note
- margarita salt (or kosher salt works great)
- lime wedges, for garnish
Simple Syrup (makes 1/4 cup)
- 1/4 c. white sugar
- 1/4 c. water
Instructions
To Make Simple Syrup: Combine equal amounts of white sugar and water. Cook on stove in a small pan, stirring with a small whisk until liquid turns clear. Cool and store in refrigerator. Keeps for 1-2 weeks.
To Make Drink: Mix tequila, grand mariner, Agavero, simple syrup, lime juice, juice from 1 orange juice (do not substitute orange concentrate) in a shaker or small pitcher. Shake or stir to blend.
Prep margarita glasses by rubbing a lime wedge around the rim, dip in kosher or margarita salt. Fill glass with ice.
Pour margarita drink into glass, garnish with a lime wedge and enjoy!
NOTE: You can adjust ingredients for a small batch a head of time to make 4-6 drinks at once.
Valencia oranges are juicier, but regular navel oranges work too.
