Margarita Popsicles

Fun on a hot summer day

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. water
  • ¾ c. fresh squeezed lime juice (8-10 small limes)
  • 1/4 c. fresh orange juice (use valencia orange)
  • 1/4 c. tequila
  • 1/4 c. orange liqueur (Grand Marnier)
  • Ten 3 oz. disposable paper cups (or plastic solo cups)
  • Ten wooden popsicle sticks

Instructions

Heat water and sugar in a small sauce pan until completely dissolved and the water is clear. Let cool.

Pour into a pitcher with lime and orange juices, tequila and orange liqueur.

Pour 2-1/2 oz. (5 Tablespoons) of margarita into each cup. Cover each cup with a small piece of foil. Make a small slit in the center and put a popsicle stick in cup. Place cups in a shallow pan and put in freezer. Freeze overnight.

To serve, peel the paper away from the popsicle and remove. Consume immediately.

NOTE: Alcohol doesn't freeze well, so if your freezer isn't cold enough, you can still eat these with a spoon.
