Donuts: Baked Vanilla Cake Donuts
We made for the first time camping with our grandkids July 2024.
They were a big hit!
Ingredients
Cake Donuts
- 2 c. unbleached all-purpose white flour
- 1 c. white sugar
- 2 t. baking powder
- 1/2 t. salt
- ΒΌ c. unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs beaten
- 3/4 c. whole milk
- 2 t. vanilla
Vanilla Glaze
- 2 c. powdered sugar
- 1 t. vanilla extract
- 3-4 Tbls. milk
- sprinkles of your choice
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Grease donut pans with cooking spray.
In a large bowl whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
In a medium bowl whisk together the butter, eggs, milk and vanilla.
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
Carefully spoon the batter into the greased donut pans, using small spoons. Fill the pans only 3/4 of the way full. DO NOT OVERFILL.
Bake for 10-12 minutes, until golden brown.
Cool for 5-10 minutes before glazing and adding sprinkles, if desired.
While the donuts are cooling, mix the vanilla glaze.
