Chocolate Chip - Oat Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. butter, softened
  • 1/2 c. shortening (Crisco butter flavored baking sticks)
  • 1-1/4 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 Tbls. milk
  • 2 t. vanilla
  • 1-3/4 c. unbleached all-purpose white flour
  • 2-1/2 c. oatmeal
  • 1 t. baking soda
  • 12 oz. pkg. semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips

Instructions

In a large bowl, using a mixer, cream margarine, sugars, eggs, milk and vanilla. By hand, stir in dry ingredients. Fold in chocolate chips. Chill dough for a few hours.

Drop by level tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheets.

Bake at 350 degrees about 12-15 minutes or until done. Cool cookies on wire racks lined with paper towel to absorb the grease.
