Asparagus: Roasted with Balsamic Browned Butter

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. asparagus spears, trimmed
  • 1/8 t. kosher salt
  • 1/16 t. ground black pepper
  • 1 Tbls. butter
  • 1 t. Kikkoman low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/2 t. good balsamic vinegar (18 yr or older)
  • cracked black pepper
  • grated lemon rind, garnish

Instructions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Arrange asparagus in a single layer on a baking sheet, coated with nonstick cooking spray. Sprinkle with salt and ground pepper. Bake for 12 minutes or until tender.

Melt butter in a small skillet over medium heat; cook 3 minutes or until lightly browned, shaking pan occasionally. Remove from heat, stir in soy sauce and vinegar. Drizzle over asparagus, tossing well to coat.

Garnish with cracked pepper and lemon rind, if desired.

NOTE: Serves 4.
