Acorn Squash

This recipe is for 1 squash (2 halves),
adjust accordingly for more squash

Ingredients

  • 1 acorn squash
  • 1 Tbls. butter, each half
  • 2 t. brown sugar, each half
  • 2 t. maple syrup, each half
  • 1/8 t. ground cinnamon, optional

Instructions

Quicker Method: Prick 2 rows all around each squash and microwave on high 6-8 minutes (or until half cooked)

Cut in half and remove seeds.

Add butter, maple syrup and brown sugar to each squash half. A little cinnamon is optional.

Place each half in pan and bake in the oven at 400 degrees for 35-45 minutes. Baste sides with butter mixture while baking. If they appear to be drying out, cover with foil. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.

Full Baking Method: Cut squash in half, scoop out seeds and discard. Place cut side down in a baking pan; add about 1 inch of water.

Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Drain water from pan; turn squash cut side up. Add butter, maple syrup and brown sugar inside each squash.

Bake uncovered for another 10-15 minutes, or until glazed and heated through.

NOTE: Overall you can add as much, or as little, of the ingredients as you wish
